Celebrating Local Brilliance: Premier Business Spotlight

Celebrating Local Brilliance: Premier Business Spotlight

This month's prize, a meal for two at Settebello in Cheltenham.

Each month, Premier Technology shines a light on one brilliant local business that's doing things right — whether that's delivering outstanding service, supporting others, or simply standing out in their field.

What's it all about?

Here's how it works:

  • Anyone can nominate a local business they admire — or even their own — using a simple online form.
  • After nominations close, we review every entry and carefully choose three standout finalists.
  • We contact those finalists for permission to feature them.
  • Once approved, the finalists are shared via our blog, email, and social media — and the public gets to vote for their favourite.
  • The business with the most votes is named that month's Premier Business Spotlight winner and featured across all our channels.

🎁 Each month, the winning business receives a reward — currently, a three-course dinner for two (with wine) at Settebello, a much-loved Italian restaurant in a beautiful Cheltenham setting.

💬 And now, there's something for nominators too: If the business you nominate wins, you'll receive a JBL Bluetooth speaker as a thank-you gift.

As the initiative develops, we'll be working with other local partners across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds — introducing new prizes and keeping things fresh, useful, and relevant.

Why We're Doing It

Because it benefits everyone — and it's worth doing.

Yes, it helps us build better connections. Yes, it supports local visibility. And yes, it creates something valuable for everyone involved. We're not dressing it up as something it isn't — it works for all sides.

But more importantly, we believe businesses that show real care, real consistency, and real contribution deserve more attention — especially in a world where those qualities are being stripped out or buried under automation and branding fluff.

We value local business because we see what goes into it: the pressure, the long weeks, the endless problem-solving, and the responsibility that sits on people's shoulders. From single-person start-ups to long-established independents, it all counts. It all matters.

And there are things great local businesses do that no big corporation can replicate or synthesise — the way they treat people, the way they help others, the way they build lasting relationships without ever turning it into a performance.

We want to recognise that. We want to hear about the people doing things properly — not for show, but because that's how they operate. And we want to help others see it too.

It's a win for the person nominating — you've taken a moment to recognise someone doing something right. It's a win for the nominee — being noticed by others means something real. It's a win for the finalists — they gain visibility and credibility. It's a win for the winner — they get treated to a well-earned evening out. And it's a win for us — we meet decent businesses, build solid relationships, and stay grounded in the local economy we're here to serve.

So, if you know a local business that deserves a little extra spotlight, head to our nomination page and tell us all about them. You could be the one to help us celebrate their brilliance.
